Dear Rowing Friends,
the Fixed Seat Italian Rowing Federation and Canottieri Sabazia are happy to invite you to take part to the 3rd FIXED SEAT EUROPEAN ROWING CUP. On September the 14th (Saturday), 2013, this event will be hosted by Savona.
The ''Gozzi'' are typical Ligurian boats: the public of these local races is composed by people keen on rowing but most of all by enthusiastic people willing to win the local trophy.
The start, the buoy turn, the final rush: these are the ingredients that excite and capture the attention of people who follow the fixing seat rowing, a sport practiced in tight contact with Nature, which importance resides in the sense of union of the crew (4 rowers + 1 coxwain).
Abroad boats may be different but the passion of the supporters is the same all over the world.
For the first and second edition of the European Cup, the Italian Federation of fixed seat rowing chosed Bogliasco in the Eastern Riviera, which hosts many italian and foreign tourists during summer time. For the third edition, we will be in Savona, in the Western Riviera on the Mediterranean Sea. A remarkable symbol of Savona is La Torretta. This impressing strategically positioned tower was built in the 14th century. When moving away from the port you will find the greater part of the medieval centre still remaining. The principal attraction is the impressive fortress of Priamàr.
On Friday, there will be the opportuniy to train and to try "Gozzi boats" with Italian coaches. On Saturday the preliminary regattas will start at 3:30 pm: then the semifinal and final between the winners of the preliminary races. European Cup will be opened by promotional races with the participation of Italian Clubs.
Races of European Cup will be part of the President of the Italian Republic Trophy, an historical international flat water meeting.
